Left: Sack Minister for Lakhimpur

PNS

Left parties CPI(M) and CPI on Monday reiterated that Union MoS Home Ajay Mishra should be sacked from Cabinet as his son is found as prime accused in the “massacre” of farmers in Lakhimpuri.

Addressing the media, CPI(M) General Secretary said that as son is a prime accused and his father can’t be a Minister of State in Union Home Ministry any more.

“Minister Ajay Misra Teni must be immediately sacked from the Union Cabinet for his role in this barbaric atrocity in which eight people have lost their lives, including four farmers and a journalist. Justice cannot be delivered with his continuation as Minster. The large volume of the recorded footage of the incident clearly shows the deliberate manner in which this brutality was executed. The prime accused can be identified in this footage. We demand immediate dismissal of Minister Ajay Misra and stringent action against Ashish Misra on charges of brutal cold-blooded murder,” said Yechury.

CPI also demanded the dismissal of Mishra from Union Cabinet. Delegation of CPI leaders led by party Uttar Pradesh state council secretary Dr Girish Chandra Sharma visited Lakhimpur. “Few days before the incident, the Union minister of state for home affairs had threatened to crush the farmers’ movement. His son acted to put that into practice. Though the route of the farmers’ protest demonstration had been diverted, son of the minister along with his gang came out with a caravan of vehicles to the place

where the kisans had already finished their peaceful protest. They had tied a six-foot long bamboo lathi in front of the T

har Jeep so that the protesters could be flattened to the ground and then crushed by the vehicles,” said CPI in a statement demanding Misra’s dismissal from the Union Ministry.
