While the Opposition has raised a big question over the prevailing law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh and claimed lack of development, the ruling BJP said that the law and order situation has improved. The Government will make public its 100 days report card on June 25.

“law and order situation is better than the last SP regime. Criminals have started fleeing the State fearing action. The Opposition is trying to rake up the issue as it had nothing else to say,” said Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya after a series of meetings at the state BJP headquarters with party functionaries in lucknow on Thursday.

Maurya said that the wait for waiver of farmers' loan will end once the budget is passed. “A holistic programme has been made to identify the beneficiaries. The procedure is transparent and only bonafide farmers will be able to avail this benefit. Over 15,000 villagers will stand benefitted in each Vidhan Sabha constituency,” he said.

Th Deputy CM said that more than 80,000 km of road have been made pothole free. “We will come up with our report card on June 25 and explain everything,” he said.

The BJP meeting was attended by senior leaders including party vice-president and UP in-charge Om Mathur, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, several cabinet ministers and office bearers.

In his address, the Chief Minister explained the Government's priority of focussing on development, law and order and ‘susashan’ (good governance).

“We are committed to taking development to the last man. This was the vision of Deen Dayal Upadhaya and we are committed to fulfilling his vision,” Yogi said.

The Chief Minister said that the Government was committed to making smart villages and over 24 lakh houses would be built for the poor people in the next three years.
