Along with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, his deputy Sushil Kumar Modi and former CM Rabri Devi, a little known person Khurshid Mohsin will file their nomination papers for the legislative Council. Mohsin is the personal choice of RJD boss lalu Prasad, and why not, because he is doing organic farming in the lands and houses of lalu family.
The CM, deputy CM and former CM have completed their tenure and they are certain to be nominated by their respective parties for another six year term. The process for the nomination filing has already started but no candidate has so far come up to file his papers. The election, if needed, will be held on April 26.
Rabri and three other candidates of RJD will file their nominations on April 16. Even though there is no official confirmation sources said the RJD supremo lalu Prasad, currently under treatment at AIIMS, has cleared all the names.
Apart from the former CM others who have been nominated are Bihar RJD chief Ram Chandra Purbe, former CM Jitan Manhi’s son Santosh Manjhi and lalu’s favourite gardener Mohsin.
The BJP’s state election committee held a meeting on Wednesday to finalise the list. Party sources said the list has been forwarded to the high command for its approval. The name of Modi is on the top of the list which also included the name of Health Minister Mangal Pandey.
The JD(U) has constituted a four member committee to select the names. The panel headed by Bihar president Bashistha Narain Singh include two former State presidents Bijendra Prasad Yadav and Rajiv Ranjan Singh lalan, both Ministers, and parliamentary party leader in Rajya Sabha and JD(U) secretary general RCP Singh. The committee will send its list to party president Nitish Kumar.
