Wednesday was a day of worries for the lalu Prasad family as the RJD supremo left for Ranchi to surrender before the Jharkhand court on Thursday and his wife Rabri Devi and younger son Tejashwi Prasad Yadav left for Delhi to appear before the Patiala House court on Friday. While lalu’s bail period is over in fodder scam cases, wife and son who have been charge-sheeted in IRCTC hotel scam have been directed to appear in the court.
Before leaving for Ranchi, lalu broke his silence, which he maintained during the provisional bail period, and lashed out at Centre and Bihar Governments. Condemning the detention of five leftist intellectuals in different cities on Tuesday, lalu said country was moving fast towards dictatorship and Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scared. “It seems the way is being paved for emergency. Nobody knows who will be arrested and detained,” he said and added that it did not behove of a PM to say that conspiracy was being hatched for his assassination.
lalu, who refused to use wheelchair at the airport, stopped to speak to the media. Attacking Chief Minister Nitish Kumar he said murder and rape have become routine and there was no law and order. “Rome is burning and Nitish like Nero is fiddling,” he commented.
