The AIADMK has fielded five candidates in the May 5 elections to the Karnataka Assembly. The party general secretary and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa said in a Press release on Friday that V Pugazhendhi, the Karnataka State secretary of the AIADMK would contest from Gandhi Nagar.
K Munisamy (Rajaji Nagar), M Anbu (Kolar Gold Field-SC), R Ravindra Kumar (Narasimharaja), and M Ravi (Hanur) are the other candidates fielded by the AIADMK. Jayalalithaa is yet to declare the stance of the AIADMK vis-à-vis other parties in the Karnataka elections.
The DMK camp is maintaining a studied silence on the elections to be held to the Karnataka Assembly. Since Jayalalithaa has fielded five candidates, Karunanidhi has to field an equal number lest he would be treated as weak in Karnataka. The DMK chief’s elder daughter Selvi and her family are residents of Bangalore city.
