As Karnataka is crucial for both the ruling Congress and the Opposition BJP, the saffron party has started a 36-day ‘Jana Sampark Abhiyan’ ahead of Assembly polls next year. The Abhiyan even though intended to understand the ground reality on the prevailing drought condition across the State, the party under the leadership of lingayat strongman and party president BS Yeddyurappa has started gearing up for ensuing Assembly polls in 2018. The BJP national leadership under Amit Shah has instructed the State party to  fight the Congress and make Congress-Mukt Karnataka by winning 150 seats.

Party leadership also projected Yeddyurappa as the next Chief Minister if the party comes back to power.

As part of the pre-poll preparations, the BJP launched  ‘Jana Sampark Abhiyan’ from Tumkur under the leadership of Yeddyurappa putting a face of unity in the party. The BJP abhiyan is to expose the ruling Congress Government’s failure in addressing the people’s

problem.

The campaign was laun-

ched after the leaders took blessing of Shivakumara Swamiji of Siddaganga Mutt here. Earlier, the leaders had breakfast at a Dalit’s house.

Union Minister HN Ananth Kumar, speaking to newspersons, said that during the campaign, the leaders will visit Dalits’ houses and have breakfast and listen to problems faced by them.

Yeddyurappa had announ-

ced that he will hold public meeting at each district headquarters during the campaign.
