The kin of BJP worker Trilochan Mahato, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Balrampur block in Purulia district on Wednesday moved the Calcutta HC seeking CBI investigation into his death.

Hariram Mahato, the father of the victim who was found hanging from a tree with hate posters pasted on his corpse suggesting the reason of his death, filed the petition which was likely to be heard on Friday by Justice Tapobrato Chakrabarty, lawyer Priyanka Tebrewal said.

Mahato a 20-year-old youth was allegedly accosted and murdered by alleged Trinamool men who had earlier warned him not to work for the BJP in the Panchayat elections. Incidentally the BJP had done exceptionally well in the Panchayat elections in Purulia where they won nearly half of the seats withstanding the Trinamool violence.

Posters were pasted on the victim’s back that read, “because you were involved with the

BJP even at the age of 18, it claimed your life. I have been searching for you since the panchayat elections now you are dead.”

Curiously another BJP Dulal Mahato worker was found dead in a similar condition, this time from an electric tower within three days of Trilochan’s  news hit national headlines.

Meanwhile the BJP on Wednesday staged a march in Kolkata slamming the Trinamool for failing to protect the interests of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in Bengal.
