Kerala HC: No sitting judge to probe solar scam

PNS

The Kerala High Court on Monday rejected the Kerala Government’s request to make available the services of a sitting judge to probe the infamous solar scam in which Congress Chief Minister is allegedly involved. This was the second time the court was rejecting the Government’s request in this regard.

The decision not to spare the services of a sitting judge for a judicial probe into the solar scam was taken by a meeting on Monday evening of the High Court judges, presided over by Chief Justice Manjula Chellur. The HC Registrar will formally inform the State Chief Secretary of the decision on Tuesday.

The meeting, which discussed a letter written by Chief Minister Chandy in this regard in detail, came to the decision that there was no situation that warranted revision of the stand adopted on the issue earlier. The earlier decision was taken by the five-judge Administrative Committee of the High Court headed by the Chief Justice.
