PC George, Chief Whip of Kerala’s UDF Government and vice-chairman of major coalition partner Kerala Congress (M), has written a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi saying that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy was aware of certain facts related to the solar scam.
In the letter written to Sonia Gandhi last month, George, who was till recently known as Chandy’s personal troubleshooter, said that he had evidences against Chandy and that these could be handed over to her if she allowed him to meet her.
George, who has so far made several stunning disclosures against Chandy and many of his supporters in connection with the solar scam, asked Sonia to replace Chandy as Chief Minister with some other Congress leader of her choice because his continuance in the position could ensure the collapse of the UDF and a huge defeat for the front in the next lok Sabha polls.
The Opposition lDF and the BJP wanted the special investigation team probing the solar scam to immediately question George as the contents of his letter to Sonia Gandhi were of extremely serious in nature. They said that the letter proved that George could throw light on Chandy’s involvement in the scam. PNS
