The Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government is going to relaunch the anti-corruption helpline with fanfare from Talkatora stadium on April 5. Keeping this in mind, the AAP government has asked its MlAs to bring more people to the venue. Earlier, the Government had planned to relaunch this helpline on April 2. This time around the AAP Government is also going to launch a massive advertising campaign aiming to make people aware about how to use the helpline to curb corruption in government offices. It is understood that the massive advertising campaign might cost about Rs7 crore to the Government.
The CM is understood to have directed all heads of departments to install a board at the reception of their respective offices so that visitors could know about the helpline. A circular in this regard is likely to be issued to all the Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, HODs and heads of autonomous bodies. Also, the Government is planning to launch a massive publicity campaign on outdoor media, Radio FM and through SMSes. Arvind Kejriwal’s voice may also be used in radio jingles. According to a source, the CM has desired that the awareness campaign should reach maximum people.
A proposal too has been moved suggesting that the advertisements be put up at about 1,500 outdoor locations, including rent free sites, bus stands, display boards, railway bridge panels, unipoles, public utilities and panels inside Delhi Metro. Also, the advertisements may be put up on the rear windows and screens of about 1,000 DTC buses. During his 49-day tenure as CM in 2013, Arvind Kejriwal had launched a helpline number-(011) 27357169 — saying anyone who is asked to pay bribe by any official in Delhi can dial the number to register a complaint.
