In the first sign of trouble in the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), party MP and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter K Kavita has come out strongly against a senior party leader D Srinivas and demanded action against him.
On the other hand, D Srinivas’ son D Sanjay has made a counter attack saying fear of defeat in the next elections has started troubling Kavita. While Kavita is TRS MP from Nizamabad, D Srinivas was the veteran leader in Nizamabad district politics.
Kavita was keen for a second term from the same constituency while Srinivas was keen that his son should get the party tickets.
Against the backdrop Kavita lashed out at D Srinivas and wrote a letter to KCR alleging that Srinivas was indulging in anti-party activities.
Srinivas who belongs to backward caste was earlier in the Congress and the KCR had aggressively wooed him and after bringing him into TRS fold rewarded him with Rajya Sabha seat.
Recently, D Srinivas was in the news when his younger son D Aravind had joined the BJP.
In the internal fight of TRS D Srinivas in a bid to mobilise his forces held a meeting with his supporters and discussed his future course of action. Kavita on the other hand also held a meeting with her supporters and district party leaders.
Many party leaders alleged that after his younger son joined the BJP D Srinivas had started acting soft towards the saffron party and working against the interest of TRS.
Kavitha told the media that in the last elections people of Nizamabad district had extended all out support to TRS giving all the nine Assembly seats to the party playing a very important role in bringing the TRS to power. “That is why Nizamabad is very close to the heart of the Chief Minister”, she said. That was also the reason that KCR admitted D Srinivas into the party and appointed him as an advisor with cabinet rank.
Pointing out that several party leaders and cadres had complained against the pro BJP and anti party activities of Srinivas she said that it forced her to come out into open with the issue. KCR who had warned that he will take strict action against his own children if they violate the party discipline should take immediate action in this matter too, she said.
Meanwhile, Srinivas has sought an appointment with KCR to discuss the matter. “If he gives me an appointment I will come to Hyderabad”, he said.
KCR to offer nose ring to Goddess Durga Meanwhile Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will fly to Vijayawada on Thursday to offer a gold nose ring to the Goddess Durga at the famous temple in Vijayawada. This will be part of fulfilling his vows of a king offerings to various temples in both the Telugu states as a thanksgiving for fulfilling the dream of separate Telangana State.
Earlier KCR had made offerings of expensive jewellery to Bhadrakali temple in Warangal, Tirumala temple and Padmavati temple in Andhra Pradesh.
Commenting on KCR’s move of making an offering now Congress leader Revanth Reddy said, “KCR remembers goddess Durga when the elections come closer.”
