The Government on Monday appointed Rajendra Kashyap, as the new Financial Commissioner of the Railway Board. Kashyap took charge of his assignment with effect from Monday.
He was holding the additional charge of Financial Commissioner (Railways) since July 1’ 2013 in addition to the position of Additional Member(Budget), Railway Board.
Kashyap, belongs to the 1976 exam batch of Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS). He has worked in various positions on the Zonal Railways and in Ministry of Railways and Department of Personnel and Training of the centre.
He completed his MBA from University of Strathclyde, U.K. Kashyap held the posts of Director Finance and Managing Director, Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) during February 2002 to August, 2011.
