Karnataka's final electoral roll, published on Tuesday after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), has 4.54 crore electors, with more than 1.08 crore enumeration forms excluded during the exercise, the Chief Electoral Officer's office said.

The final roll lists 4,54,55,689 voters, down from 5,54,32,314 before the revision. The CEO's office said 1,08,76,625 enumeration forms were excluded by the time the final list was prepared.

Separately, 61,867 electors were declared ineligible for inclusion after notices were issued and hearings conducted.

The final electoral roll comprises 2,25,40,493 male voters, 2,29,12,355 female voters and 2,841 third-gender electors. More than 6.83 lakh voters are in the 18-19 age group.

Electors can check their names in the final list on the Election Commission's voter services portal.

The SIR exercise began in Karnataka on June 30, covering 5.54 crore electors. It was the first such revision in the state since 2002 and involved Booth Level Officers (BLOs) visiting households to collect enumeration forms and verify voter details.

Of the 5.54 crore forms generated, 4,46,35,975 were signed and submitted to BLOs. These electors were included in the draft electoral roll published on August 24.

The draft roll showed that 1,07,96,339 voters, or 19.48 per cent of the pre-revision electorate, had not been enumerated because their forms were not submitted or they were classified under the Absent, Shifted, Dead and Duplicate categories.

The largest category comprised 65,45,679 voters marked as permanently shifted. Another 19,00,926 were recorded as absent, 16,39,864 as deceased and 7,09,870 as already enrolled elsewhere or as duplicate entries.

61,867 electors declared ineligible after hearings

The Election Commission issued 43,82,824 notices to electors whose records required verification. Hearings were conducted in all these cases, according to the CEO's office.

Following the process, 61,867 electors were marked ineligible for inclusion in the final roll. The verification and hearing process concluded on October 22.

During the claims and objections period, which ran from August 24 to September 23, 10,08,038 voters were added to the electoral roll, while 1,88,324 names were deleted. Another 8,96,519 entries were modified through corrections. Applications continued to be processed until October 22.

Of the additions, 8,77,104 were made through Form 6, used for new voter registration; 2,312 through Form 6A; and 1,28,622 through Form 8 for shifting-related additions.

Among the 1,88,324 deletions, 1,24,327 voters were in the permanently shifted category and 61,960 were classified under “Others”. The remaining deletions included 1,091 deceased voters, 762 duplicate entries and 184 absentee voters.

The “Others” category included ineligible cases identified during hearings, the CEO's office said.
