Just few days before Ganesha festival, a Kannada novel Dundi authored by Yogesh Master is in news for allegedly calling Ganesha as a cruel and rowdy god. The novel not only raked up a controversy but also witnessed protest by right wing Hindu organisations.

Based on a complaint by Hindu activists the Bangalore city police arrested the author Yogesh Master, who was released on bail on Friday. The Bangalore police have booked the writer under Section 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings) and 298 (uttering words etc. with deliberate intent to wound religious feelings) of the IPC.

Hindu organisations alleged that 45-year-old writer Yogesh Master hurt the sentiments of Hindus by depicting lord Ganesha in poor light in his novel Dundi.
