Next election, whether it is to the lok Sabha or Tamil Nadu Assembly, will see well trained activists of the party to be led by superstar Rajinikanth manning all the booths in the State.

“The name of the party is yet to be decided. That is to be done by Rajinikanth. But he is busy lining-up youngsters to man all the 69,000 polling booths in Tamil Nadu,” said Tamilaruvi Manian, former Congress leader-turned- political analyst who is helping the superstar in setting up the political outfit.

Meanwhile, the promotional visuals of Kalaa, the next movie featuring Rajinkanth has gone viral and has created a furore among  his fans. “It is fantastic. Thalaivar is superb,” said Vishnu Sharma, a journalist and an ardent fan of Rajinikanth. He said the move is the right launching pad for the actor to announce his political odyssey. “Kaala means black. It is a tribute to millions of Kaalas like me who are labelled as black Madrasis by the people in the north. The dialogues in the teaser itself is a reply to such people,” said Sharma. He also pointed out that the film would see a clash of the titans as it has Nana Patekkar in the cast line.  “Rajini Sir and Nana Patekkar are the most valuable stars of Indian cinema. It is going to be a major event,” he said.

Kaala is directed by P Ranjit, who had directed Rajinikanth’s previous blockbuster Kabaali which broke all collection records. Manian said though Rajinikanth has agreed to act in the next movie to be produced by Sun Movies, it will not affect the launching of his political outfit in anyway.

Manian does not like to be described as the adviser to Rajinikanth. “I am the convenor of Gandhiya Desiya Iyakkam, a Non-Governmental Organisation. Rajinikanth has asked my views in certain aspects which I have given  him,” said Manian.

He said the process of admitting members to the political outfit has started. “Rajinikanth’s party would have 1.5 crore active members. The district level office bearers have been appointed. The general convener and secretary of the outfit would soon undertake a tour all over Tamil Nadu,” disclosed Manian.

Rajinikanth is being advised by a group of professionals and veteran bureaucrats to chalk out the programmes and policies of the party. “Right now he is finalising the party constitution and by-laws. We hope that the elections to the Tamil Nadu Assembly would be held by December  2018. Rajinikanth would be ready to face the electorate by then,” said Maninan.

The run up to the launch of the party would be held at Coimbatore on May 20, said Manian.

“It is being held under the auspices of Gandhiya Desiya Ayakkam. The public meeting would be a land mark event in the history of Tamil Nadu politics. We are expecting more than two lakh people for the gathering  where we will tell the people why Rajinikanth should be the next leader of Tamil Nadu,” said Manian.

Meena Rajan, a school teacher in Chennai, who never misses any of the Rajinikanth movies, said she was confident that his political outfit would be a success. “He is the first leader in Tamil Nadu who has reminded his followers about the importance of one’s family. While addressing the fans, his emphasis was on looking after the families . It is a touching gesture which has gone down well with women,” said Rajan.
