SAIL’s Jharkhand Group of Mines (JGOM) organised ‘Knowledge Quest – Mining Business Quiz’ at the Learning and Development Centre in Kiriburu to mark National Mining Day. The initiative aimed to enhance employees’ knowledge of the mining business and promote a culture of continuous learning.
A total of 22 employees, forming 11 teams from various mines and departments of JSOM, participated in the competition. The quiz was conducted in two stages, beginning with a preliminary round, from which the top six teams qualified for the final. Rathin Biswas, DGM (HR-L&D), and Asnada Srikanth, AM (HR-L&D), conducted the event as quiz masters.
P. M. Shirpurkar, Chief General Manager (Mines), KIOM, presented awards to the winning teams. He appreciated the enthusiasm and participation of employees and emphasised the importance of building a strong knowledge-sharing culture while staying updated with the latest developments in the mining sector.
The team comprising Gaurav Bhardwaj and Krishna Kunal emerged as the winner. Ram Raman Swain and Chandan Kumar Choudhary secured the first runner-up position, while Rahul Kumar Yadav and Kedar Mahto finished as the second runner-up.
The initiative marked an important step towards strengthening employee engagement, knowledge enhancement and continuous learning across JSOM.
