JD(U) slams BJP for felicitating two Muzaffarnagar riot-accused MlAs

PNS

The Janata Dal (United) on Friday hit out at former ally the BJP for felicitating its two legislators who are accused in the Muzaffarnagar riots. Claiming it exposed the real face of the BJP, JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav also rued that the former ally was debating useless issues instead of taking up issue that concerns the common man.

“I feel this trend has intensified in the last 3-4 months after the BJP announced its Prime Ministerial candidate. After this announcement, useless and filthy debates and discussions have started at different forums and media in the wake of elections in five States,” he told reporters.

Condemning the felicitation of riot-accused legislators, Yadav took a jibe at the BJP saying, “They have lost direction after Narendra Modi became their PM candidate. I strongly condemn that incident. They have shown their real face to the people of the nation. And cleverly they have felicitated them before (Modi’s) arrival.”

Yadav said personal blame game had started between political parties, which should rather discuss only issues that concern the poor, underprivileged or will be of genuine service to the nation.

He said the country’s economy was in bad shape and the poor were not benefiting from schemes meant for them.
