In the run up to the Republic day celebrations the Pakistan Army has once again started escalating the tensions along the line of control in Jammu and Kashmir.

On Thursday an Indian soldier succumbed to his fatal injuries after Pakistan Army resorted to 'unprovoked' ceasefire violation on the line of control (LoC) in Krishna Ghati Sector of Poonch. In response, the Indian Army too retaliated strongly to the enemy fire.

Defence PRO in Jammu said, "during the ceasefire Havaldar Nirmal Singh of 10 JAK RIF was critically injured and later he succumbed to his injuries". Ground reports suggested, Pak army resorted to ceasefire violations at multiple locations along  the line of control in Poonch.

The foot soldiers of the Indian army have been maintaining tight vigil to prevent any fresh infiltration bid from across the LoC to execute any sinister terror plot. Regular cordon and search operations were being conducted in areas prone to infiltration bids and on the basis of spotting suspicious movement of heavily armed infiltrators.
