As his indefinite hunger strike against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh entered the fifth day on Wednesday, condition of YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy had weakened considerably.

A team of doctors from the Osmania University examined Jagan at the hunger strike camp at his residence lotus Pond and advised him to end the fast. Doctors warned that if he does not call off his hunger strike and undergoes treatment, there was a threat of his slipping into coma. The doctors apprised the police officials about his health condition.

A large number of his supporters continued to visit the hunger strike camp to express their solidarity with the young leader. This is second time that Jaganmohan Reddy has gone on indefinite fast on the issue of the bifurcation. Earlier, he had sat on the indefinite fast while in Chanchalguda jail in connection with the disproportionate assets case and it ended six days later when jail authorities shifted him to a hospital. Jagan’s sugar level had come down to 54 and ketone levels were 4+, doctors said.

Meanwhile, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu continued his hunger strike on the third day on Wednesday at New Delhi’s Andhra Pradesh Bhavan amid the attempts by the State Government officials to remove him from there.
