BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Friday brought momentum to the campaign of party candidate Vinod Khanna by lashing out at the UPA Government and praising the actor turned politician.

Modi said that he lived in Punjab for years and travelled across the length and breadth of the entire State. “I know Punjab much more minutely than PM Manmohan Singh,” he added. On the priorities of the BJP-led NDA Government, Modi said that the BJP manifesto provided detailed agricultural policy framework, where MSP will be 50 per cent above net profit for the farmers and a Grameen Kisan Yojana.

He also promised that the borders will be secured and no soldier will have to sacrifice his life for the country.

Addressing the gathering, Khanna said that people thought that he had four kids but there was a fifth kid, and that was Gurdaspur lok Sabha constituency.
