PNS

A video containing the confessional footage of a young girl fearing for her life and perceiving her murder in the name of saving family honour went viral on the social media and stumped the Hathras police. As suspected by the victim, she was subsequently killed and the family chose to bury her body to conceal the crime.

On learning about the video, the local police swung into action, got a case registered, exhumed the body and sent it for autopsy on Thursday. However, the report failed to confirm the cause of death and viscera was preserved. Though the family members were named in the killing, the cops were also grilling the lover who was present with the girl in a train when the video was shot on a mobile phone.

As per reports, Soni (21) of Naurangabad Paschim in Sikendrarao (Hathras) had an affair with a neighbour, identified as Imran. The family members were against the link-up and tried their best so that the girl called off the relation. Upon failing to mould the girl, the family later shifted Soni to Mumbai. On August 18, the family brought Soni back from Mumbai and on the next day, she died in Hathras after which the family buried her body in a local graveyard.

The matter took an ugly turn on Wednesday evening, when a video of Soni went viral on the social media. Soni was seen saying that her family was against her liaison with Imran and when they failed to stop her from meeting him, they were forcibly taking her back to Hathras to kill her in the name of saving family honour. The video was said to be made on the night the intervening night of August 18 and 19.

The case was registered against Soni’s father Mohamed Yameen, her brother Akram Pahelwan, Ishaq Ali and her mother.

But since the video was shot by Soni in the presence of Imran, who had called her to meet in the coach bathroom, hence the cops detained Imran. He was being grilled to ascertain why did the lover not try to save the girl by informing the police despite knowing about the threat to her life. The cops are keen to know why was the video uploaded a week after Soni’s death. Meanwhile, in Mathura, a morphed video of a girl and her mother went viral on the social media after which the family lodged a case. The cops have located the phone number through which the video was uploaded and were trying to track down the owner and arrest him.

Some unknown persons morphed the face of girl and her mother with actress of a porn film and uploaded it on social media aiming to defame them. When the family

learnt of the mischief, they lodged a case at Vrindawan police station.
