In a historic moment, the Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj recorded an unprecedented turnout as the number of devotees taking a holy dip in the sacred Triveni Sangam surpassed the 10-crore mark on Thursday afternoon.

This extraordinary milestone highlights the spiritual significance of the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers, drawing pilgrims, sadhus, and Kalpvasis from across the globe.

According to the Yogi Adityanath-led government, this Mahakumbh is projected to welcome over 45 crore visitors. The early milestone of 10 crore bathers reflects the immense faith and enthusiasm surrounding the event.

Thursday alone saw 30 lakh devotees participating in the holy ritual, including 10 lakh Kalpvasis who have taken up temporary residence in Mahakumbh Nagar to dedicate themselves to spirituality during the event. Major bathing festivals have witnessed record-breaking crowds, with 3.5 crore devotees performing the Amrit Snan on Makar Sankranti and 1.7 crore on Paush Purnima.

The Triveni Sangam, bustling with activity, serves as a vibrant reflection of Indias cultural diversity, bringing people of different castes, communities, and even nationalities together in an act of shared faith. The Mahakumbhs overarching theme of unity is evident in the harmony among the millions of devotees.

Despite the staggering influx of pilgrims, everyday life in Prayagraj remains unaffected, thanks to meticulous planning and management by the district administration. Schools, offices, and businesses continue to function smoothly, with restrictions imposed only during peak bathing days. This seamless coordination has won appreciation from residents and enhanced the prestige of the Mahakumbh as a global spiritual and cultural spectacle.

With an estimated 35 crore visitors yet to arrive, Prayagraj is gearing up for an unforgettable culmination of this massive event, reaffirming its status as the spiritual heart of India.
