RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday said that the Hindu society and Hindu values had become inevitable for the entire world which was presently reeling under problems like lack of spirituality, moral anxieties and deviation from righteous life.

Inaugurating the `18-crore convention centre of the RSS in Kochi dedicated to the memory of K Bhaskar Rao, Kerala’s first pranth pracharak, sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat said that all-round progress of the Hindu society was not for its own sake but for the betterment of the entire world.

Stating that conversions were unnecessary, Bhagwat said Hinduism did not favour conversions. “Hinduism does not accept conversions. Hindus try to reverse conversions,” he said, adding, “If you have the basic human values, what we eat and pray are immaterial.” He asked the Hindu society to spread this message through the world.

The sarsanghchalak said that Bhaskar Rao was a person who showed to the world the greatness of dedication through his style of work. The simple and selfless life of Rao, his tireless work for the betterment of the Hindu society, and his efforts for uplifting the downtrodden had no comparisons, he said.

Participating in the function, P Parameswaran, director of RSS think-tank Bharateeya Vichara Kendram, said the Bhaskar Rao memorial was an inevitable expression of the history of the Hindu renaissance period. “This belongs to the Hindu society,” Parameswaran said.

Former ISRO chairman G Madhavan Nair, who presided over the function, called for changes in the education system as it had become highly commercialised. He also stressed for the need for promoting entrepreneurship rather than going for jobs in the Government or in multi-national organisations.
