A high alert has been sounded in the national Capital and security has been tightened at vital installations, including IGI airport, railway stations, Metro stations, India Gate, and at major markets in the wake of the terrorist attack in Paris.
Top police officials said security has been tightened across the city following the terror strike and HIT and SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics) teams have been deployed. “A high alert was sounded in the city following the attack in Paris. We are prepared for any eventuality and our HIT and SWAT teams have been deployed at strategic locations,” said a senior police official.
Security has been top notch in the city in the last one month after reports of attacks coming from around the world and intelligence inputs suggested that lashkar-e-Tayyiba may stage a “spectacular” attack in Delhi. Police has urged the Delhiites to report any suspicious activities on terror helpline number 1090.
