Nobel Peace Prize winner Kailash Satyarthi met Obama and urged him to “forge a friendship” to help liberate children from slavery and bonded labour. Obama, himself a 2009 peace prize winner, met Satyarthi for a few minutes on the sidelines of Siri Fort event. The Indian child rights crusader told Obama that winning the award has resulted in “tremendous moral pressure to work even harder than before”. He also lauded US administration’s efforts to “bring down the number of child labourers.”
