Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan on Friday held a video conference (VC) to review the Covid management strategies and actions taken in the eight North Eastern States—Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim—and asked the respective officials to help contain the transmission. These eight Northeastern States together account for less than 5 per cent of the total active cases in the country. With active cases numbering 29,690, Assam tops the list constituting 68 per cent share in the total active caseload followed by Tripura which has 7,383 active cases.
