The Bombay High Court has upbraided the Maharashtra government and the Centres for the delay in procurement of smart mobile phones for Anganwadi workers engaged in the implementation of the Poshan Abhiyan Scheme and asked to deal with the matter on a priority basis.

Taking a strong exception to the submission made by the state government that it would take at six months for procuring 1.3 lakh Poshan Abhiyan Scheme- compatible mobile phones for Anganwadi workers in the State, a HC division bench Justices GS Patel and Neela Gokhale on Wednesday directed the Centre and the Shinde government to prioritise the matter and not leave things to the court to fix a time-line for completion of procurement.
