A man involved in 33 criminal cases, fell from the terrace of police station while trying to escape custody after being arrested from central Delhi’s Navi Karim area.
The police received a complaint from Gulshan Kumar against Dhannu Niki on charges of robbery. The police said that Niki was heavily drunk and had a dispute with his brother. The ruthless man even tried to strangle his mother when she intervened in the fight.
Niki was arrested on Monday night and handed over to the Head Constable of Navi Karim police station. While the head constable was on phone, Niki grabbed the opportunity and ran towards the terrace trying to escape the police. In an attempt to come down with the help of a tree branch, he slipped, fracturing his arm and leg. While Head Constable Rajneesh has been suspended for negligence, Niki was nabbed by the police and admitted to a local government hospital. SR
