As part of their party’s nationwide programme to protest against the recent washout of the Budget Session of Parliament, BJP leaders in Gujarat including Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Deputy CM Nitin Patel, Council of Ministers in Rupani government, Gujarat BJP president Jitu Vaghani and Members of Parliament elected from Gujarat observed a day long symbolic fast on Thursday. CM Rupani was initially scheduled to sit on a 'symbolic fast' with other BJP leaders in Ahmedabad, however later on he decided to keep working at his Gandhinagar office and also observed fast. His ministers including Dy CM Patel set on fast at different places in the state. Patel joined the protest in his constituency Mehsana, while Gujarat BJP chief Jitu Vaghani sat on a fast at Vadodara with local MP Ranjanben Bhatt.
