Shyamal Misra, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), on Wednesday chaired the 17th Coordination Meeting aimed at resolving inter-departmental issues and accelerating infrastructure development in the city.

Senior officials from key civic agencies including the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG), and Municipal Corporation Manesar (MCM) were present at the meeting.

Addressing the participants, CEO GMDA underscored the importance of seamless coordination among departments to expedite infrastructure projects across Gurugram. He particularly stressed fast-tracking works related to water supply, drainage, sewerage, and road development.

Administrator HSVP Vaishali Singh informed that cases pertaining to land acquisition and missing road links flagged by GMDA are being handled on priority.

She added that significant progress has been made, with possession of critical land parcels along sectors 71/73, 88/89, and 62/65 master dividing roads handed over to GMDA following resolution of legal hurdles.

On the issue of illegal sewage discharge from Sector 42 into Creek 1, MCG Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said the internal sewer line has been laid, and the connection to GMDA’s master sewer line will be completed shortly.

Furthermore, tenders have been floated for laying sewerage infrastructure in Kadarpur, Behrampur, and Ullahawas villages to prevent sewage outflow onto master roads.

Commissioner MCM Ayush Sinha updated that the sewer line connecting villages near Sector 86/89 is nearing completion and will soon be integrated with an HSIIDC drain to eliminate overflow issues.

CEO GMDA directed MCG to ensure all water boosting stations under its jurisdiction are operational. He also called for disconnection of illegal connections on master water pipelines to maintain a controlled and equitable distribution of potable water. Joint inspections by GMDA and MCG officials have been mandated to assess the functionality of boosting stations and underground water tanks.

Additionally, MCG was asked to strengthen its sanitation drives, especially during the monsoon season, to keep underpasses and roads clear of debris, thus preventing drain blockages and waterlogging.
