In view of violence during Tuesday's tractor parade at several locations in Delhi, the Gurugram Police was put on high alert on Wednesday.
Gurugram Police chief K K Rao directed the entire police force including senior police officials to ensure that law and order in the district is maintained. In his directions, Rao said law and order should not be disrupted at any cost.
According to official sources strict instructions have been issued in the Gurugram district adjoining the national Capital as a precautionary measure. However, to sense the seriousness of the matter the district police have already deployed hundreds of police personnel across the district.
Keeping in mind the violence in Delhi, the authorities had suspended internet services in three districts -- Sonipat, Jhajjar and Palwal -- till 5 pm on Wednesday in order to check the spread of misinformation.
However, the internet services in Gurugram were also affected since Tuesday afternoon.
Apart from this, Gurugram Police said they have intensified their security arrangements and special instructions have been given to the police force to keep a vigil on suspicious elements.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACPs) and Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCPs) will continue on patrolling in their respective areas on a rotational basis.
Besides this, the Special police forces include Counter Assault, Police Riders, Police PCR, Cranes, Fire Brigade and Ambulance Police Teams have also been deployed along with all the security equipment to tackle any situations.
"Policemen have also been deployed in uniform and plainclothes in all the crowded areas including Sadar Bazar. The police strength has been increased around metro stations, railway stations, bus stands and crowded places and also on the Delhi-Jaipur expressway (NH-48) and border area connecting the national capital to ensure law and order," said Rao.
