Former BSP MP Babban Rajbhar was on Thursday expelled by the party for six years on charges of indiscipline.

He has been expelled from the party as complaints of indiscipline against him were found to be true, Bahujan Samaj Party coordinator Madan Ram said here.

Rajbhar, who was BSP MP from Salempur in 1999, had joined Congress after being denied party ticket in the 2014 lok Sabha polls, but later rejoined BSP and was made coordinator of some divisions.

The former MP, however, expressed surprise over his expulsion and said that so far he has not been informed of any such action by the party.

Rajbhar said the decision may be an outcome of a rally that he is organising for the Rajbhar community.

“I have organised a big rally in Haldirampur area here on April 17 on behalf of Rajbhar organisation to demand inclusion of Rajbhars in the Scheduled Castes list and may be this action has been taken because of it,” he said.

“In case I am expelled, I will work whole-heartedly for the welfare of Rajbhars,” he added.
