Two persons were killed and some sustained injuries in a clash between two families over a long-standing property dispute in Behrampur village on Thursday afternoon. Three accused persons have been arrested.

According to police, a panchayat was called in the morning to break stalemate over the four-year-old

property dispute running in the Gurgaon local court, but the matter could not be resolved.

Members of the victim family then went back home. Soon, the rival family attacked them with firearms and wooden blocks. Four people sustained bullet injuries in the attack. Two of the injured — Gurdayal and Jitender — were declared dead on arrival at a hospital.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Gurgaon) Rahul Sharma said, "The victims have named 10 people in the complaint. We have so far arrested three of them.

Five teams have been constituted to arrest rest of the accused."

"During the local panchayat, the families had a heated argument after which they attacked each other with bamboo sticks," said Jeet Singh, a villager.
