The RSS and the BJP are for greater synergy between their cadres for ‘Mission 2014’.

In a closed door meeting on Thursday, which lasted for more than six hours, top leaders of the BJP and the RSS discussed “coordination issues” in great details. The BJP is also understood to have sought “active participation” of swayamsevaks in the election process for better results.

Sources claimed the leaders exchanged notes on the “State-wise feedback” that they have received from their cadre. UPA’s recent decision to create Telangana was discussed in great detail. “Issues relating to ensuring better coordination between affiliates of the Parivar were mostly discussed,” sources said.

BJP president Rajnath Singh, however, claimed no political discussion, including the issue of deciding party’s PM candidate for the next elections, took place. “During the meeting, important economic, social and national issues like that of security were discussed. No political issues were discussed,” Singh told reporters after the meeting.

BJP’s election campaign committee chief Narendra Modi, leaders of opposition in lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley, party’s general secretary (organisation) Ram lal and secretary V Satish were among those who attended the meeting.

Among the RSS leaders at the meeting were its general secretary Bhaiyyaji Joshi, joint general secretary Suresh Soni, besides Dattatray Hosbole and Dr Krishan Gopal. Modi later held a separate meeting with the members of the campaign committee and Chairmen of the sub-committees on different issues.
