Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray said here on Tuesday that it was time for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to put a stop to”Mann Ki Baat” with people in the country and indulge in “Gun Ki Baat” with Pakistan.
A day after the Pakistani Army beheaded two of Indian soldiers and mutilated their bodies in Jammu and Kashmir, Uddhav asked the Prime Minister to act tough against Pakistan and teach Islamabad a permanent lesson.
Speaking at workshop organised for training the ruling Shiv Sena corporators in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Uddhav said: “Kashmir is burning. The Prime Minister should put an end to his Mann ki baat and resort to “Gun ki baat” with Pakistan. It is time for India to teach a permanent lesson to Pakistan”.
Senior Sena leader and State Environment Minister Ramdas Kadam also had a dig at the Prime Minister, when said separately: “Modiji should now concentrate less on polls and focus more on national issues. When Modiji took over as the Prime Minister, we felt that our soldiers will not be killed any more by the Pakistani soldiers. But what we are seeing now is entirely different. The infiltration from across the borders has increased. And the Pakistani soldiers have gone to the extent of beheading of two of our soldiers and mutilate their bodies”
“Securing our borders is important. How many more wives of Indian soldiers will be widowed before India acts against PakistanIJ The Prime Minister will have to give us an answer,” Kadam said.
Taking an indirect pot shot at the ruling BJP for its failure to protect the country’s borders, Uddhav said: “We are here as the the custodians of the BMC. I would like to know as to what the security guards ( BJP) are doing except playing with batons given to them. I would like these security guards remain awake and do their job…Otherwise what is the use of having security guards posted at the door”.
Meanwhile, former chief minister and Maharashtra Congress President Ashok Chavan came down heavily on the Prime Minister for his government’s failure to act against Pakistan, despite Pakistani army having beheaded two of Indian soldiers and mutilated their bodies.
“The Prime Minister had gone to town saying that the cross border terrorism would stop after demonetisation. But, both cross border terrorism and attacks on Indian soldiers are continuing as before. The situation has come to such a pass that Pakistani soldiers have dared to behead two of our soldiers and mutilate their bodies. Why the NDA government with 56 inch chest is keeping quietIJ,” Chavan asked.
