The appreciation for BJP came from unknown quarters on Monday when Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav called Bharatiya Janata Party as a disciplined party and asked his party worker to emulate them.
“BJP has returned to power in four States because its cadre did not indulge in goondagardi during its rule. This is a disciplined party. Whereas there are reports about SP workers, whose father is Minister in Government, has created ruckus. This is a shameful act and it should stop,” Yadav said while addressing a function organised at party office to pay homage to former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh on his 111th birth anniversary.
He said that those leaders and their son fail to behave in a responsible manner in the public should be thrown out of the party. “Strict action would be taken against party workers if they indulge in hooliganism ever again,” he said.
Mulayam Singh was referring to a news about a senior Samajwadi Party leader KP Yadav having given an application to the Jaunpur police for registering an FIR against UP minister Parasnath Yadav and his son lucky Yadav for beating up his supporters.
Parasnath Yadav has recently replaced KP Yadav as lok Sabha candidate from Jaunpur. This decision has been opposed by KP’s supporters.
Mulayam’s words of appreciation have gladdened the hearts of BJP leaders. Party State president Dr laxmi Kant Bajpai said that at least Mulayam has said some good words about BJP. “There is no doubt that ours a disciplined party and it believes in values than false egos,” he told The Pioneer.
It was strange that though Yadav was soft on BJP he lashed barbs at Congress. He questioned Rahul Gandhi’s surprise visit to the relief camps of the riots victims of Muzaffarnagar saying Congress vice-president was doing politics on this issue.
“Rahul Gandhi is speaking with a forked tongue and doing politics under the cover of relief to those displaced by the communal riots in Muzaffarnagar. The Congress leader praised the efforts of State Government during his visit to the relief camps but said entirely different thing when he talked to the media in Muzaffarnagar’’, he said.
Meanwhile Yadav made an emotional appeal to the party cadre to work unitedly to make him the next prime minister. Take out cycle rally across the state as you did during assembly election. Take the message of good work being done by the State Government,” he said. Cycle is the election symbol of the Samajwadi Party.
“Mujhe bhi to kuch banao, aap logon ne mere jawan bete ko to mukhya mantree banaa diyaa, mere liye bhi to kuch karo, mujhe kya banaayoge (Do something for me also, you have made my son Chief Minister of UP, what plans you have for me),” said the SP chief.
“Make an all out effort to make me next PM,” he said. “Do not fight on trivial issues. Sink your differences and start campaigning. You have proved in 2012 that you can do it. Prove your might yet again,” he said.
