The Election Commission of India on Wednesday issued a notification for the 26 lok Sabha constituencies and seven Assembly segments in Gujarat in view of 16th general elections and Assembly bypolls respectively.
“With notification in place, the process of filing nominations for 26 lok Sabha seats and seven Assembly segments including Abadasa, Rapar, Himmatnagar, Visavdar, Somnath, lathi and Mandvi. Candidates can file nominations from April 2 to April 9 during 11 am to 3 pm,” said Anita Karwal, Gujarat chief election officer.
Scrutiny of forms will take place on April 10, said Karwal adding that the last date of withdrawal of nomination is April 12 and the date of the voting for general elections as well as Assembly by-polls is on April 30.
