In an attempt to reign in corruption, the State Government has decided to launch a retrenchment drive against the corrupt and lethargic officials and employees soon.
UP Public Works Department Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav said the corrupt and lethargic employees will lose their jobs soon. They will be identified and retrenchment procedure will be initiated against them.
“Contrarily, the employees who will perform good will be promoted,” he said.He said that there were reports galore about officials who play truant during duty times. A list of such officials is being prepared and action would be taken very soon, Yadav said.
Early this year Yadav had issued an order asking officers not to go to their homes for lunch. They said officers should bring their lunch with them and eat it during lunch time between 1 and 2.
Yadav, who inaugurated and laid foundation stones of various construction projects to the tune of Rs 62.67 crores, claimed that his party has done a number of developmental projects, but people ignored them in favourable BJP-winds.The Minister said that the State Government paid heed on a number of developmental works, but people got misled in the lok Sabha elections.
