Ranga Reddy district Bar Association has decided not to take up the case of the two accused arrested in the sensational case of abducting and raping a software employees on the outskirts of Hyderabad two days ago.

The incident has sent waves of shock and dismay in the city. Cyberabad Police arrested 30-year-old V Satish and 28-year-old  Venkateshwarulu hours after the duo had abducted the girl in a Volvo posing as driver and passenger of a sharing taxi from Madhapur area of the city.

The policed produced the duo in the Miyapur court which remanded them to 14 days judicial custody. The court also accepted the police request for their custody for two days. The Bar Association which met on Wednesday passed a resolution unanimously that no member will represent the accused in the court.

Satish, who was the driver of one Manoj Agarwal , accompanied by his friend, had picked up the girl who after finishing her duty was on the back to her hostel in Gowlidoddi in Gachibowli area.  As it was the common practice with the employees of IT and software companies in the Hitech City to travel in sharing taxis, the girl did not hesitate when the driver offered to drop her to her hostel.

Instead of dropping her to the hostel, the duo abducted her on the way and turned the car to the Outer Ring Road and later to Kolluru in Medak district where they raped the girl. The girl apprehending threat to her security contacted her friend in Bangalore and alerted him. But the abductors snatched away the phone and switched it off.

After raping the girl and threatening her with dire consequences if she lodged a complaint with the police, the duo dropped her at the hostel in the early hours of Monday.

The terrorised and traumatised girl took 24 hours to gather the courage and inform the police. However, what left the police shocked was that though the car had passed through at least two toll gates at the outer ring road, the staff there had failed to record the registration number of the car. The video cameras at the toll gates were also not functioning.

However, the video camera of a school enroute had recorded the movement of the car helping the police in nabbing the culprits.Cyberabad Police commissioner CV Anand said that Satish had used the car and posed a cab driver with the intention of abducting and raping any girl who boarded the vehicle. Venkateshwarulu said that Satish had forced him to become a partner in the crime. “He threatened to kill me otherwise”, he said the police.
