Didi calls Modi ‘shameless liar’

Launching a frontal attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for peddling lies after lies to cling on to power Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday said she had worked with many Prime Ministers but not a person like the present one.

“I have worked with many Prime Ministers but I never saw an incumbent as shameless and liar as this one,” Banerjee told from her twin rallies at Moynaguri and Jalpaiguri in North Bengal.

In her speech coming close on the heels of the Prime Minister’s who addressed a rally at Coochbehar also in North Bengal Banerjee reacted to Modi’s Sharada-Rose Valley-Narada aspersions the Chief Minister saying “those who talk about Sharada and Narada are holding rallies with the perpetrators of this fraud sitting by their sides.”

Apparently referring to former Railway Minister Mukul Roy who subsequently left the TMC to join the BJP Banerjee said “Modi Babu refers to the chit fund scams but himself addresses rallies with a Gaddar (traitors) who has masterminded the scams sitting by his side.”

She added, the BJP was inducting all the “rejected items (leaders)” from the Trinamool Congress. “They are taking the rejected leaders whom we have driven out because of their criminal activities,” Banerjee said.

Referring to the “questionable conduct” of the BJP candidates in North Bengal she said “those who were once involved in rioting, smuggling and murder have now been given ticket by the BJP.”

Referring to the Alipurduar BJP candidate John Bulra she said “this man was involved in triggering riots between Bengalis and the tribal people.” About Nisit Pramanik the Coochbehar BJP candidate she said “he was involved in human trafficking and cattle smuggling.”

On the BJP’s alleged influence — on the Election Commission — in transferring key police officers of Bengal she said “they are thinking that transferring officers will win the day for them then they are living in fool’s paradise. Even the new officers are my officers and we will take care of that.”

Wondering as to why the Cabinet Secretary of India and why the Prime Minister’s own secretary should not be transferred before the elections Banerjee said “they have transferred the Chief Secretary of a State, and senior officers of many other States. But I want to ask why the Cabinet Secretary and Prime Minister’s Secretary will not betransferred.”
