Giving an impetus to the Swachchhta Abhiyan, Delhi Medical Association president Anil Goyal said that their organisation has been putting an honest endevour to the cause even before the "mission" was formally launched across India. Explaining that the DMA is working for cheap medical facilities for the poor, he advocated for the availability of generic medicines in every hospital.
"There should be a community hospital at a distance of every five km and a 100-bed hospital at every 100 km. Each hospital should have at least a duty-equipped ambulance so that precious lives can be saved," said Anil Goyal while addressing a press conference in Delhi on Thursday.
When asked how the DMA plans to curb the Chhattisgarh-like botched sterilisation operations, Dr Goyal said that the association has issued Standard Operating Protocols (SOPs) so that appropriate procedure is adopted to carry out the sterilisation surgeries.
The DMS president demanded 50 per cent seats in the Army hospital in Delhi should be reserved for locals. Delhi Medical Association is going to organise its 57th Annual Delhi State Medical Conference on Sunday.
The Conference will be inaugurated by Union Health Minister JP Nadda. BJP Secretary Dr Anil Jain, and Minister of State of Culture and Tourism (Independent Charge) Dr Mahesh Sharma will be the guest of honour on the occasion.
