Delhi has Govt by Tughlaq for zamindars: Didi

Mamata Banerjee continued to rain invectives on the Narendra Modi dispensation calling it a Government run by the Tughlaqs for the landlords which had no sympathy for the toiling masses.

The Bengal Chief Minister who was addressing a large gathering in North Bengal said the “the Tughlaqi Government in Delhi first hit the people hard by the way of demonetization which was a huge bunkum. And now they are cutting their pockets by reducing bank interests.” She would not however directly refer to the Prime Minister.

Alleging that the BJP Government only saw the interests of the landed classes and the rich and had no sympathy for the poor and the middle class she said, “After the hogwash called Notebabndi they are hatching a banking conspiracy in the name of FRDI Bill which after becoming a law will empower the bankers to usurp the deposits of the customers and the people will have no say against this act.”

Ever since the Government came to power in Delhi it attacked the poor and the middleclass, she said showing how the “price of petrol and cooking gas went up every month. They have set people’s kitchen on fire.”

On the multi-crore Punjab National Bank fraud Banerjee said “the banks under this regime have been following ridiculous policy where they pay thousands of crore in loan to defaulters and fraudsters out of the taxpayer’s hard-earned money while cause the small businessmen to take rounds of the banks for a meager one lakh rupees.” In their bid to make India a cashless economy they had turned India into a “cashless society,” Banerjee said adding how the BJP “takes recourse to communal politics by fanning Hindu-Muslim divide in order to win elections.”

The Bengal Chief Minister had no love lost for the Modi Government ever since the strong CBI action on the Sharada and Rose Valley chit fund scams that saw a number of Trinamool Congress leaders including MPs and Ministers in jail. Meanwhile in a major breach of security two women on Thursday slipped through the three-layer security cordon and climbed on the dais reaching within a couple of feet of the Chief Minister who was addressing a public meeting in North Dinajpur.
