Family members of an 18-year-old deaf and mute girl and officials of a police chowki in south Delhi entered into heated arguments on Friday night which took an ugly turn with the girl's kin alleging that the cops misbehaved with them.

The incident took place at Bhogal police chowki in south Delhi's Hazrat Nizamuddin. The deaf and mute girl's elder sister alleged that the chowki in-charge misbehaved with them during the arguments and molested her and her younger sibling. They did not make any formal complaint with the police in this regard.Senior police officers, however, said the deaf and mute girl was brought to the Bhogal police chowki by a beat constable after she was found loitering in the area in an alleged inebriated condition late night. The chowki in-charge informed the girl's family after which her father and elder sister came there.

The officials said that instead of appreciating their efforts, the family misbehaved with them for taking her to police chowki and they started shouting at cops."The policemen at the police post tried to pacify them but the girl's father misbehaved with the chowki in-charge and screamed at him for bringing his daughter there. "An argument broke out between them during which the chowki in-charge slapped the girl's father," an officer said.

The officer said, the girl's family approached Hazrat Nizamuddin Police Station where they alleged that Bhogal police chowki in-charge molested and misbehaved with the two women.
