The Defence Colony entrance round-about was renamed as 'Veer Bhoomi Chowk' on Tuesday at an event organised to commemorate Vijay Diwas. Former Army Chief, Gen JJ Singh unveiled the new name at the event organised by municipal councillor Abhishek Dutt.
Dutt said in addition to the renaming, a wall would also come up at the spot, bearing the names of residents of Defence Colony who have participated in various wars fought by the Indian Army after independence. Chief Arvinder Singh and senior journalist Nitin Gokhale also participated in the event.
