Defeat forces dividing Hindu society: RSS

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) cautioned against forces dividing Hindu society and called for a united Hindu force to defeat those forces.

Addressing a gathering of swamis at the Sant Sammelan at Siddaganga Math in Tumkur, Bengaluru, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday said sants and swamis of Hindu society can fight those forces which are trying to divide Hindu society.

He said: “A few forces of the world want to divide Hindu society.  Such forces took away our own people. These people later became the enemies of Hindu society ... We need to show a mirror which reflects the unity to each Hindu. Such a task can be effectively undertaken by sants and swamis of Hindu society.”

Dr Shivakumara Swami of Siddaganga Mutt along with Bhagwat inaugurated the Sammelan organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) as part of its golden jubilee celebrations.

“If sants and swamis are leading the society, we will be there following the religious leadership. We are believers of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam concept. For a Hindu, no one is an outsider. Each religious sect of India should make this concept clear amongst themselves,” he said.

He also stressed that the RSS and VHP will give support to swamis from behind with their social activities and requested the sadhus to discuss the values of spirituality in the lives of people.

VHP International general secretary Champat Rai said the sadhus and sants had the potential to solve all problems facing Hindu society. “The booming population in India is not a curse but a boon. Society should seriously come forward to eradicate social evils like blind beliefs, casteism,” he said.

Bhagwat also released a book authored by senior RSS Pracharak Chandrashekhar Bhandari on the VHP. Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar of the Art of living Foundation expressed his concern over growing religious conversions across India and said there should be effective measures to stop them.
