Diaries and notes seized by the Kolkata police in the house of horror case might just have disentangled the skeleton mystery, officials handling the case on Monday said. According to sources, the documents and some revelations made to the doctors by Partha De, the central character of the “psycho” case, point out to the fact that his sister Debjani De was doing some kind of Yoga that involved days of fasting.
DCP South Murlidhar said, “We have recovered many things and hope they will help us solve the case.” Other officials said the diaries and the statements made by De had brought the police on the verge of cracking the case, adding however they were yet to link up some loose ends.
Reportedly of deeply spiritual nature and mostly pre-occupied with otherworldly affairs, “she had in fact done correspondent course on this kind of Yoga from an Ashram in Ranchi in 2001” police quoting the documents and revelations made to a group of psychiatrists who interacted with De at Pavlov mental Hospital where he is getting treatment said.
Doctors also quoted De as saying that he had urged his sister to eat but she would not and so he would only help her with supplying water even as she meditated all the time. Incidentally, father of Partho would not know that his daughter had died while meditating, junior De is known to have told the doctors adding he only revealed the matter to his father in March this year while she had perished in December last year. While the team of doctors would not give the police permission to grill him immediately, the administration planned to shift him to institute of psychiatry at SSKM Hospital in Kolkata, sources said.
