District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Megha Bharadwaj on Wednesday inspected several polling stations in the Maheshpur and Pakur Assembly constituencies to review the fifth round of meetings between Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Booth Level Agents-2 (BLA-2), along with voter awareness activities under the Election Pathshala initiative.
The inspection covered polling stations at Primary School Silampur (booths 95 and 96), Upgraded Middle School Gwalpara (booth 94), Primary School Bhetatola (booths 26), Primary School Ballabhpur (booths 473 and 474) and Middle School Mangalpara (booths 290 and 291).
The DC interacted with BLOs and BLA-2 representatives, reviewed the meetings and assessed voter awareness initiatives. She also inspected the ongoing house-to-house electoral roll verification work at booths 95 and 96 in Silampur and booth 474 in Ballabhpur. The review focused on matching voters' details with electoral records, verification progress and the accuracy of information submitted through prescribed forms.
During interactions with villagers, she enquired about the availability of voter ID cards and the distribution and submission of Form 6 for new voter registration. She urged people who had received notices to submit the required documents within the stipulated period.
Bharadwaj directed officials to complete all electoral activities transparently and within prescribed deadlines. She said the house-to-house verification campaign, continuing until November 12, aims to ensure that no eligible Indian citizen is left out of the electoral roll.
She stressed the need for an accurate and updated voter list to strengthen the democratic process. Deputy Election Officer, Electoral Registration Officers and other election personnel were present.
