The Samajwadi Party said though the Supreme Court has given clean chit to BSP supremo Mayawati in the Disproportionate Assets (DA) case the people of the State would not forgive her for looting the State exchequer in the name of construction of statues and memorials in the memory of Dalit icons.
“Every child in UP knows how the Ministers in the last BSP Government and its Chief Mayawati had looted the State. The loot was so blatant that several officials were killed because they refused to pay the BSP leaders commission,” State SP spokesperson and UP Jail Minister Rajendra Chaudhury said here on Thursday.
The BSP regime had converted the State bureaucracy into a ‘BSP Volunteer Force’. They looted the State in the name of NRHM, construction of memorials and through other projects,’’ he said in a statement issued here. The BSP leaders and even the legislators were involved in crime including rape but she just interested in collecting money through illegal means.
“The lokayukta probe has already unearthed several scams and illegal activities of the BSP Government,’’ he said. The Supreme Court on Thursday has said that no DA case could be lodged against Mayawati. Interestingly, the DA cases were pending against SP leader Mulayam Singh Yadav and his son Akhilesh Yadav in the apex court.
