CPM accuses TMC of diverting attention from Saradha probe

The CPI(M) on Tuesday said the Trinamool Congress’ protests over black money in Parliament was nothing but a “bargaining tactic” to deflect attention from Saradha scam. Accusing the TMC Government in the State of blocking CBI probe into the scam for three years, senior CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury said the Mamata Banerjee-led party was “trying to deflect attention and convey the false opinion that the arrests of TMC leaders was part of a political game of BJP.”

“I will not be surprised if the TMC tactics of protests on black money is meant for bargaining ... And to support the government on crucial matters. We will see where TMC stands when important bills come up for approval in the House,” Yechury told reporters here.

Demanding action against all those involved in the Saradha scam, he said the CBI and ED investigations have revealed that there were 126 more ponzi companies in West Bengal alone, which have “fleeced the people of an estimated Rs60,000 crore.”
