Two days ahead of it recording of his statement in the 2002 hit-and-run case, a Mumbai sessions court on Wednesday rejected Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s plea for a three-week adjournment of the ongoing re-trial in the case.

Turning down the actor’s request for postponement of the re-trial on the ground that his presence was required in a Jodhpur court trying him in the endangered black buck killing case, Sessions Judge DW Deshpande made it compulsory on Salman to appear his court on March 27.

In response to a summons served on him to appear before the court on March 27, the actor sought adjournment of the re-trial for three weeks. Special Public Prosecutor Pradeep Gharat opposed the plea for adjournment saying  the case schedule deserved priority on the ground that it had been fixed by the sessions court much before the Jodhpur court schedule was finalised.
